You can rest assured

In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. ~Romans 8:26 (NIV)

Many of us know the comfort of having a close friend or family member in our lives to pray for us. But the truth is, we all have someone praying for us every minute of every day. In Romans 8 we read that the Spirit Himself intercedes for us. An interceder is one who intercedes or interposes between parties, to effect reconciliation; a mediator; an intercessor. The Holy Spirit is at work 24/7 maintaining Jesus Christ’s finished work. Jesus has reconciled us to God. Therefore, God is not counting our sin against us and when He looks at us, He sees us in Christ. Romans 8:34 tells us “who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died – more than that, who was raised to life – is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.” (NIV) God isn’t condemning us, we condemn ourselves when we choose to believe His love towards us is based on anything we have done whether good or bad. God’s love towards us is not based on our performance. It is based on Jesus’s performance and Jesus finished the job. Now we live in the “too good to be true” good news that God loves us completely and unconditionally. God doesn’t want us to just know His love, He wants us to experience it so we can go out and love others with that same kind of love. That radical love that causes us to put the needs and well-being of others before our own!

The bible teaches we have unseen advocates. We have a support network that is operating in the background. We have the Holy Spirit of God in us; we have Jesus at the right hand of God interceding for us and we have angels hearkening to the voice of God to work on our behalf in this earth. Our circumstances cannot hold us back when we know in our hearts these truths because it's knowing these truths that changes our circumstances. We are told in Hebrews 7:25, “Therefore He is able to save completely those who come to God through Him, because He always lives to intercede for them.” (NIV) It is Jesus Himself who has provided you with everything you need to live out the great destiny He preplanned for you. It has been planted on the inside of you and the Lord has also planted the seed of faith for you to accomplish His plans for you. When you know someone loves you then you are able to have faith that they would be there for you no matter what the need. The Lord tells us in Romans 12:3 that we have each been allotted a measure of faith. We have each been given a measure of "ability to trust God". Faith comes by hearing God's word and when we hear it and live our lives according to the truths within God's word, it is like a muscle. It gets stronger and stronger with exercise. Use your faith today to believe the promises of God that you have the help you need to accomplish what God has put in your heart. You can rest assured that no matter what you have done or what you have said or where you have found yourself, there is someone sitting at the right hand of God acting as your mediator and intercessor. He is your Savior, and He is maintaining everything His sacrifice paid for. God's love toward you is sure and secure. What a blessing to be forgiven and restored to a right relationship with God continually. We need to remember Christians aren't perfect, they are forgiven. There is no need to stress because we are blessed!

Blessed is the one whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered. ~Psalm 32:1 (NIV)
