Trust in Him from whom all your help comes from

Then you will know that I am in Israel, that I am the Lord your God, and that there is no other; never again will my people be shamed. ~Joel 2:27 (NIV)

How often in life do we try to get out of the world what only God can provide? Have you ever been through a season in your life when you were completely discouraged trying to make something happen that just wouldn't come? Have you ever felt like your prayers weren’t being answered or wondered if God was even hearing them? Hindsight often reveals those times are times of testing. The bible teaches us that our faith will be tested. God tells us in 1 Peter 1:7 “These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith--of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire--may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.” (NIV) We may feel like we are going through fire, but God has a purpose, that fire is pulling out all the dross, or impurities, that we oftentimes don’t even see in our character by teaching us to change our minds and then our choices. Believe it or not, we have the ability to sin ourselves sick and tired of sin! God allows us to use our free will knowing that at the end of the day, if we have united ourselves with Christ through faith, we will humbly return to the Shepherd of our souls.

Scripture teaches us that going through the fire not only refines us but proves our faith and God says our faith is worth more than gold. Having a heart full of faith in your God is always better than money because there is so much money can't buy! Money cannot buy you peace of mind and money cannot buy you a healthy body. Next time you find yourself in a place where you have no out, then have no doubt! Remember God’s word in Joel 2:27. He says, “Then you will know that I am in Israel, that I am the Lord your God, and that there is no other”. If we don’t let God be God in our lives, He will allow our circumstances to show us who is in control, and we would do good to remember that it is not us. If you have found yourself miles down the wrong road and you don’t have the strength to walk back to the last place you knew was the right place for you to be then go to God! One prayer confessing you didn’t make the right choice or go in the right direction and an honest desire to do it differently is all that God says you need to do for Him to move heaven and earth to put you right where you need to be right now. Your prayer line to His throne is your lifeline. It is the umbilical cord from your heart to heaven. The provision for everything from what you need to where you need to be will always come from the throne of God and He tells us in Isaiah 64:4 “Since ancient times no one has heard, no ear has perceived, no eye has seen any God besides you, who acts on behalf of those who wait on Him.” (NIV) Quiet down and pray, then start confidently expecting God to bring you through. Trust in Him from whom all your help comes from!
