Reject Worry

So do not worry or be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will have worries and anxieties of its own. Sufficient for each day is its own trouble. ~Matthew 6:34 (AMP)

You can't worry and trust God at the same time. You will have to reject one or the other. The Lord tells us in 2 Corinthians 10:5 that we are to cast down imaginations, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God and bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.  When your mind wanders to “what am I going to do?” or “How is this ever going to work out” remind yourself of Gods promise in Psalm 46:10 “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” (NIV)  It doesn’t matter what the enemy tries to convince us of in our mind, God has the final say and He says we are not fighting for victory, we are fighting from victory.  We have been seated in heavenly places in Christ FAR ABOVE the powers and principalities that are waging war against our minds and emotions.  When the enemy tries to tell you that you aren’t going get that job or that promotion, you cast that thought down and tell him that God has the final say in your life.  When he shows you images of the future that make it look like you are never going to feel good again or that your condition is getting worse and not better, you remind him that by Jesus’ stripes you are already healed.  We have to shut the enemy down at the very first thought.  It’s what you do with the first thought that determines how long you will be in the battle.  If we let our fears have any place, they will make our faith ineffective.  The bible teaches if we take our thoughts captive and elevate what God says about our situation that we will not just experience victory, but we will walk in victory.  Who wouldn’t want to be victorious in every area of their life?  Well as believers we have that ability because we are in Christ, and He has already accomplished the work.  We just need to believe that He has already accomplished the work!

We must reject worry and doubt if we are going to have joy and peace in our life.  We do that by arming ourselves with the knowledge of what God has to say about what we are going through.  When was the last time you opened your bible and searched the scriptures for what God has to say about your healing or your children or your marriage or your job?  How are you going to fight the onslaught the enemy brings against your mind if you don’t even know the truth?  The bible tells us the thoughts the enemy tries to get us to accept are like “fiery darts”.  Have you had any thoughts that produced worry, hopelessness, or depression lately?   What did you do with those thoughts?  Did you dwell on them to the point of actually seeing your fears come to pass?  If so, you could be on the fast track to what you fear coming to pass in your life.  It’s time to identify those fiery darts and cast them down.  We have to change the movie the enemy has been playing in our minds and start reminding ourselves of the promises of God.  Remember the words of David who said in Psalm 37:5 “Commit your way to the Lord [roll and repose each care of your load on Him]; trust (lean on, rely on, and be confident) also in Him and He will bring it to pass.” (AMP)  God is faithful and true to His word.  He will make a way where there seems to be no way!

I have strength for all things in Christ Who empowers me [I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him Who infuses inner strength into me; I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency]. ~Philippians 4:13 (AMP)

In what areas do you need to step up and shut the enemies voice in your head down?
