The Lord confides in those who fear Him; He makes His covenant known to them. ~Psalm 25:14 (NIV)
The Lord promises us in Psalms 25:14 that He will confide in us and makes His covenant known to us. To confide is to tell something secret or private to someone you trust. The Lord wants to reveal His covenant to us because we are His children. God's covenant is not for the world, it is for the believer, and it comes with rich blessings the world could not fathom. The covenant of God consists of the promises of God and His word is a signed contract for the believer. What God has promised to do He will do. Scripture teaches that God is not a man, so He does not lie. He is not a human, so He does not change His mind. He tells us in Isaiah 55:11 “so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.” (NIV) Many of our words are empty but Gods word is never empty. It carries the power to accomplish whatever He wants it to. It’s God’s responsibility to prosper His word in our hearts and His word in our mouths but He can only do that when our words line up with His words. Speaking Gods word over our lives and over the lives of others is one of the ways we bless each other, and we really can’t bless each other too much!
Every day the enemy tries to convince us that blessing and helping others is a waste of time. He tells us that it isn't appreciated or reciprocated so why bother. But God says nothing we do for others will go unrewarded. People might not see the work you are doing for the Lord every day, but He does. He hears every prayer, and He is witness to every act of kindness, especially those taken for granted. Jesus tells us even a cup of water to a little one won’t lose its reward. He also tells us in Matthew 6:3-4 “when you give to someone in need, don’t let your left hand know what your right hand is doing. Give your gifts in private, and your Father, who sees everything, will reward you.” (NLT) That just means don't make a spectacle of your service because your reward is not in others appreciation or reciprocation, your reward is straight from the throne of God. Don't let the devil talk you out of being a blessing to someone. Serve the Lord in all that you do today whether it is acknowledged or not. He promises that He will prosper what you do for others because you love Him, and no act of kindness will go unrewarded!
In the morning sow your seed, and in the evening withhold not your hands, for you know not which shall prosper, whether this or that, or whether both alike will be good. ~Ecclesiastes 11:6 (AMPCE)
What acts of kindness do you have planned today? What kind words do you have for those around you?
