Make Gods way of thinking your way of thinking

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—His good, pleasing and perfect will. ~Romans 12:2 (NIV)

Our goal should be to know God’s will for our lives, and we can. The Lord teaches us in Romans 12:2 that we come to know God’s perfect will by renewing our mind and we renew our mind by the word of God. One of the greatest tragedies we see in life is someone who loves the Lord and wants to do His will yet refuses to spend time with Him in His word to learn His perfect will for every area of their lives. Renewing our minds is vital to our victory. It’s the only way we can learn to think the way God thinks and to see our life from His perspective. God gives us a new attitude and a new set of morals as we study His word and conform to its image. Jesus said in this world we would have trouble, and He wasn’t lying! We see it every day in the lives of those around us everywhere, at home, at work, and at the grocery store. We hear of people who have lost their family members, their jobs, they have received a bad report from the doctor or someone they love has. There are people in pain both physically and emotionally and the only hope that we have to give them is the truth of God’s word. We have got to know what God says about death and poverty and loss if we are going to be a witness to what God says He can and will do for those who will put their trust in Him. Psalm 33:4 tells us “For the word of the Lord is right and true; He is faithful in all He does.” (NIV) Can you attest to the faithfulness of God? Has God answered any of your prayers lately? Our Heavenly Father tells us in Isaiah 62:6 to put Him in remembrance of His promises. Sure, He knows what He has promised us, but do we? What a tragedy it is when we don’t take time to learn what the Lord has to say in any and every given situation.

Every day we have a choice as to whether we are going to conform to this worlds way of thinking and doing or be transformed to God’s way of thinking and doing by renewing our mind with what He has told us. Jesus said to His disciples in John 8:31-32 “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth and the truth will set you free.” (NIV) It’s the truth of God’s word that sets us free to do His good, pleasing and perfect will. If you want to change your actions, then change your thoughts. If you want to be able to offer hope to those around you then learn God's promises. Spend time in God’s word and make His way of thinking your way of thinking. It’s done every day with mentors and life coaches and inspirational speakers. Why not just go straight to the top? Put more weight in what God has to say than what this world system speaks, and you will live larger than you have every lived before. We will never know how God is going to use something someone has done against us until forgiveness is given. That is just one tiny aspect of how living for the Lord makes us wiser people and in turn, a freer people. It’s time we choose to do everything God’s way, not just the things we feel like doing His way. That isn't going to happen until we learn His thoughts!

As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. ~Isaiah 55:9 (NIV)

Can you attest to the faithfulness of God?
