God will make you shine

God chose things despised by the world; things counted as nothing at all, and used them to bring to nothing what the world considers important. As a result, no one can ever boast in the presence of God. ~1 Corinthians 1:28–29 (NLT)

God is not looking for our ability as much as our availability.  He chooses those the world would say could never accomplish something and empowers them to succeed.  Have you ever met someone who gave all the glory to God for their successes?  Their humility is inspiring, and the truth is all the glory for every accomplishment belongs to God even if it’s just for the breath of life He provided while we pressed on.  God wants us all to do big things because when we do, it brings glory to Him.  Jobs that look too great to handle are the opportunities He provides so He can come alongside us and show Himself big in our behalf.  When we give Him the credit for enabling us to succeed a new chapter begins and we continue to be transformed into the image of Christ.  We need to be thanking Jesus a whole lot more when we see Him working throughout our day.  We should realize and know that when "against all odds" situations turn for our good, it is because He is the one that brought the victory to pass...not us!

Of course, we play a part in our success.  We definitely have to stretch ourselves.  We have to be ready to cast down doubts and cast those cares on the Lord knowing that He cares for us and every single detail of our lives.  When we do we are able to see God opening doors that cannot be shut.  Have you ever had the Lord open a way for you to move forward in an endeavor that you were not sure you could succeed in?  Have you seen the Lord bring favor your way from someone you didn’t even know?  It’s going on every day all over the world.  God is not distant.  He is right here on the inside of us in the form of His Holy Spirit.  He leads us and guides us.  He not only knows the intents of our hearts, He inspires them!  Scripture expounds on the benefits of recognizing the presence of God in our lives and how it affects our success.  For instance, in 2 Corinthians 3:17-18 the bible tells us “They suddenly recognize that God is a living, personal presence, not a piece of chiseled stone. And when God is personally present, a living Spirit, that old, constricting legislation is recognized as obsolete. We are free of it! All of us!  Nothing between us and God, our faces shining with the brightness of His face and so we are transfigured much like the Messiah, our lives gradually becoming brighter and more beautiful as God enters our lives and we become like Him.” (MSG)  In Ephesians 1:8-9 we read “With all wisdom and understanding, He made known to us the mystery of His will according to His good pleasure, which He purposed in Christ.” (NIV)  You have the wisdom and understanding of God to accomplish the will of God in your life.  Don’t let the enemy cause you to feel inadequate to the tasks God puts before you today.  Don’t let your fears enslave you and hold you back.  Each and every day is full of opportunities for God to come alongside you and make you shine!

My strength and power are made perfect (fulfilled and completed) and show themselves most effective in [your] weakness. ~2 Corinthians 12:9 (AMP)
