God Will Heal Our Land

He has given food and provision to those who reverently and worshipfully fear Him; He will remember His covenant forever and imprint it [on His mind]. ~Psalm 111:5 (AMP)

God’s covenant with us includes provision and also protection from harm.  He has promised to meet every need for those who reverence and worship Him.  We are told in Deuteronomy 28:1 “If you will listen diligently to the voice of the Lord your God, being watchful to do all His commandments which I command you this day, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth.” (AMP)  I am sure this is just one of the many scriptures our founding fathers were trusting in when they were moved to action to secure a nation not only for their freedom, but for God’s honor and glory!  Just look at what that diligence and commitment brought to us as a nation.  We have all lived in greater prosperity and protection than most of the rest of the world for generations!

There is little doubt in any of our minds that a spiritual regression has taken place in our nation and healing must begin with each of us as individuals.  We have to have a firm hold on our thought lives to produce the kind of results our forefathers did and that isn’t going to happen if we can’t focus and strategize.  We have to be able to hear the voice of God and then act on it.  Stress and anxiety will cloud our vision quicker than anything and it is said to be the leading cause for doctor visits in this nation.  When we focus on problems instead of solutions it makes us sick, not to mention our list of worries can become endless.  We have an enemy and he continually whispers thoughts of doubt and unbelief about the goodness of God into our hearts.  But he is a liar and scripture teaches us that he is the father of all lies.  The Lord teaches us in Philippians 4:6-7 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (NIV)  We can’t be anxious and have peace at the same time.  Therefore, we are told to pray, with thanksgiving.  What do you need today?  What does your family, friends and coworkers need?  What does your country need?  Have you prayed about it?  In addition to prayer, we must also learn to commit to memory key scriptures that the Lord reveals to us.  We need to find scriptures that we can meditate on that will encourage us to trust the Lord for whatever need we or those around us may have.  God says meditate on His word and obey it.  We are also told to worship the Lord with our whole heart.  These are all key elements to reaping the promises of God, not only for our generation but for many generations to come.  Remind yourself of all the ways God has taken care of you throughout your life and thank Him for all He has done for you.  Ask Him for wisdom to do His will and tell Him that you love Him and trust Him to meet every need in your life.  He promises when we do this that He will remember His covenant and bless us.  We need to remind each other that we in America are a people that are called by God’s name throughout the entire world!

If My people, who are called by My name, shall humble themselves and pray, and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. ~2 Chronicles 7:14 (NIV)

What do you need today? What have you prayed about?
