God will complete the good work He began

And I am convinced and sure of this very thing, that He, Who began a good work in you will continue until the day of Jesus Christ [right up to the time of His return], developing [that good work] and perfecting and bringing it to full completion in you. ~Philippians 1:6 (AMP)

Philippians 1:6 is a great promise to believe for your family and friends. I am sure it took a lot of pressure off of Paul when he received the revelation that God was the one that began the good work in the believers at Philippi and that God was going to be the one to develop and complete that work.  It would sure give us a lot of peace if we could get that truth down into our hearts as well. It might not always look like God is working on us and others, but we can rest assured He is, and He will continue to until the day of Jesus Christ, right up to the time of His return. The enemy wants us to grow weary and give up when we think we will never change or that situations or people in our lives will never change, but that’s a lie! We can trust that God is fulfilling His promises to us.  In the account of creation in Genesis 1:1-3 the Lord tells us “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was formless and empty, and darkness covered the deep waters. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters. Then God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.” (NLT)  God has not stopped creating since day one. His word goes forth into the earth and He is transforming darkness into light by the power of His Holy Spirit in our lives. He is separating the lies of the enemy from the truth of His word.

When God speaks things change, so next time you think you might know the truth about a matter, test it against what God has said in His word.  We are admonished to not let ourselves succumb to “vain speculations”. That is just a fancy way of saying that we tend to form futile or useless presumptions and assumptions on the basis of incomplete information.  Only God knows the whole truth of any matter and the truth about me and you as believers in Christ is that God is fulfilling His good and perfect plan in our lives by the power of His Holy Spirit. In Romans 4:20-21 Paul writes "Abraham was strong in faith, being fully persuaded that what He had promised, He was able also to perform.” (KJV) Are you confident in God that what He has promised in His word He is able to perform? Do you know what He has to say about your situation?  It doesn’t matter what the problem is or who has the problem, the solution can be found in God’s promises. Although it is not always an easy task to stand on God’s word when everything else around us seems to be going down, we can do it.  That’s where our faith comes in.  We have to lay all the fear, unbelief and neigh saying aside and press in and press on that narrow road of trusting in the Lord and His word. The bible says when you stand on God’s word you are standing on rock. The facts are like shifting sand, they change from day to day.  Don’t let yourself be led by the emotions the enemy is constantly provoking, have faith in your Father in Heaven.  Faith is nothing other than the certainty that what God says is true. Faith encourages us to trust God for what He has promised, and that same faith relies on His faithfulness and power to fulfill His Word. You can always tell if your faith is built on the rock because you become more and more joyfully expectant of God fulfilling His promises in your life as the days go by!

Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.  ~Hebrews 11:1 (KJV)
