They who seek (inquire of and require) the Lord [by right of their need and on the authority of His Word], none of them shall lack any beneficial thing. ~Psalm 34:10 (AMP)
Every child of God has the right to live a life of victory on the authority of the word of God. Our scripture today says that it is by right of our need and on the authority of His word. We provide the need; God provides the Word. God’s word is the final authority in heaven and on earth and it supersedes everything you see or feel and especially anything you think you might know. In Ephesians 4:7-8 we are told “But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it. This is why it says: When He ascended on high, he took many captives and gave gifts to His people.” (NIV) Jesus ascended to heaven and sat down at the right hand of the Father. When He did, He took captive sickness and poverty and everything else the devil would like to impart to us through lies and deception. In turn, Jesus has "graced" us with gifts, amazing gifts of revelation, provision, and abilities! Why did Jesus do this? He goes on to say in Ephesians 4:12 “to equip His people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up…” (NIV) For instance, Jesus took captive “lack”. He is the one who authored “the Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not lack” in the 23rd Psalm. Do you believe that to be true? If you do, are you acting on it? We cannot give to the body of Christ what we do not have and if we do not have provision and live in a place of lack how are we going to build the kingdom of God in our generation? Faith has works. You can say you love people all day long but if you don’t ever act like you do nobody is going to believe it!
Learning God’s word is essential to growing up in Christ and having all we need to be good stewards. When we give God’s word first place in our life the authority of that word will change our world. Just as the word you heard and believed caused you to accept Jesus as your Savior, God’s word has the power to change every circumstance in your life because it builds your faith. Scripture teaches in Romans 10:17 “faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God." (NKJV) The more of God’s word you know, the more of God’s word you can believe. How much of God’s word do you know? When a situation arises, is what God said about that circumstance the first thing that comes to mind? If not, there is going to be trouble because God’s word is what trumps everything that the enemy throws at you. When it comes to faith, Jesus said all we need is the amount of a mustard seed, but when it comes to the Word, we are told in Joshua 1:8 “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success” (ESV) and in Colossians 3:16 the Lord tells us “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly”. (ESV) If you need a mountain moved, plant God's word in your heart and watch your faith grow, then nothing will be impossible to you!
Then the disciples came to Jesus in private and asked, “Why couldn’t we drive it out?” He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” ~Matthew 17:19-20 (NIV)
What mountain do you need moved today? Do you know God’s promise for your success?
