Gods promises for your family

“For I will pour water on him who is thirsty, and floods on the dry ground; I will pour My Spirit on your descendants, and My blessing on your offspring. They will spring up among the grass like willows by the watercourses.” ~Isaiah 44:3-4 (NKJV)

How many times have we been burdened over the issues our families face? Praying Gods promises for your family, over the lives of our children and grandchildren, brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews, can be very empowering. No matter what our loved ones go through, they have an advocate with the Lord, it is the Holy Spirit, and He lives in us. When we allow Him to, He will use us for their good and for His glory. God wants us to trust Him for everything, including our loved one’s salvation and blessings. Gods word gives specific promises for the descendants of those who are in a covenant relationship with Him. We don’t have to plead with God for their lives or choices, they belong to Him already and the truth is that He loves them more and better than we ever could. We just need to have faith in Gods word. We cannot let ourselves get disillusioned by how others act or what they are doing. God answers our prayers, but He does it in His time. In Isaiah 44:4 the Lord tells us our descendants “will spring up among the grass like willows by the watercourses”. In this scripture, the “grass” represents the people of this world. Isaiah 40:6 tells us that all flesh is grass. But our descendants, the offspring of believers, are like “willows by the watercourses”. They are not common grass, they rise above the rest with distinctiveness, strength, and excellence because they are ours and we are chosen! Just because those we love are not living, believing or acting the way we want and expect them to does not mean there isn’t any pressure being put on their potential. God works on everybody from the inside out. He has to change our mind before He can change our heart and then our actions.

Set your heart today not to plead with God over your family, but to pray His promises over them and to trust Him with their future. He tells us in Isaiah 43:5 “Fear not, for I am with you; I will bring your descendants from the east, and gather you from the west.” (NIV) Don't say you don't feel close to your children or even your family, say God is bringing them from the east and gathering you from the west to bring everyone together again in unity and harmony! Any distance whether spiritual or physical between you and your family can be overcome when you begin to echo the promises of God. What we do and say matters. It has the power to bring life changing effects to those around us. Our faith is contagious and when we begin to believe that good things are coming, those around us will dare to believe that too. In Matthew 18:10 Jesus gave a blanket promise for all children saying that their angels always see the face of His Father who is in heaven. If that is true for any child, how much more of a reality should that be for the children within the families of those who are believers in Christ Jesus? We have been made righteous, so we need to thank God for everything He has promised to us for our families today and receive those promises in Jesus' name!

“I will contend with him who contends with you; and I will save your children.” ~Isaiah 49:25 (NKJV)
