God is our Strength

The Lord is my Strength and my Song, and He has become my Salvation; this is my God, and I will praise Him, my father’s God, and I will exalt Him. ~Exodus 15:2 (HCSB)

God not only gives us strength, He is our strength.  He can enable us to accomplish things that we could never do without Him.  He strengthens us by encouraging us.  He strengthens us by speaking words of wisdom and insight to our hearts.  He strengthens us by giving us supernatural energy when we are tired or weary.  God even gives us the strength to endure difficult people and situations.  You can rest assured if you are not in the middle of a difficult situation right now, there is one around the corner.  Jesus told us in this world we are going to have trouble.  I don’t know many people who wouldn’t affirm His statement.  But He also promises to be with us in our troubles and to be our strength.  He even says He has already overcome in every battle we will face as we walk through this life on earth.  We don’t fight for victory over our circumstances in this earth.  We stand in faith from a place of victory.  The Lord tells us in Romans 5:3-5 “We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance.   And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation.  And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us…” (NLT)  Do you know how dearly God loves you?  Are you confident that no matter what you face He will be with you and take care of you?  If so, then you are able to rejoice when troubles come your way.  Wouldn’t it be awesome if we could develop our faith in God's love to a point where we look at troubles as opportunities for Him to show up big in our lives?  He says we can.  But we must be “rooted and grounded” in His love.  We must have no doubt in our heart that there is nothing, absolutely nothing that can separate us from God’s great love for us!

We all have people who are leaning and depending on us every day.  The only way we are going to be able to help them is to learn to lean and rely on God's love.  When we do, we are building faith.  John referred to himself throughout his gospel as “the disciple that Jesus loved”.  In John 21:20 he states “Peter turned and saw the disciple whom Jesus loved following…” (AMPCE)  Notice John did not say “Peter saw me following”.  He had identified himself as the one Jesus loved.  Do you identify yourself that way?  Do you look at frustrations and troubles and laugh?  You should!  God says He prepares a feast for you in the presence of your enemies.  Sit down and relax.  Enjoy all the good things the Lord has brought into your life while He makes your enemies your footstool.  You are seated in Heavenly places in Christ Jesus.  Begin every day by reminding yourself that the Lord loves you.  You are the disciple Jesus loves.  He went to the cross so that He could have a personal relationship with you. Thank God for His great love for you and trust in Him to be your strength in every situation.

As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear Him; ~Psalm 103:13 (NLT)

What frustrations and troubles are you laughing at today knowing God will be with you and see you through every adversity?
