Go out in joy and be led forth in peace

You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands. ~Isaiah 55:12 (NIV)

Today is a great day to trust God and break free from the bondage of your circumstances.  Don’t let your peace and joy be determined by what is or isn’t going on around you.  Scripture teaches that we have been made new and we are not supposed to let the “issues” in life get us down.  We are told in Revelation 5:10 “You have made them a kingdom (royal race) and priests to our God, and they shall reign [as kings] over the earth!” (AMPCE)  Scripture is clear God wants us to reign in this life, not allow other people’s actions or our circumstances to reign over us and get us down.  The only way that is going to happen is for us to learn how to maintain our peace and joy through patience.  God rewards our patience.  When we cling to those five words of promise “I will be with you” like so many others have and we count on God showing up big in our lives, we are able to be content no matter what the situation.  We are confident God will be Lord of our outcome.  He says those who wait on Him shall renew their strength, not they might renew their strength.  You can be sure whether you need your physical body stronger, your mind stronger or even your finances stronger; strength is coming, and it isn’t going to be a minute too late because God has promised to renew your strength. He says He will be with you, and nothing is impossible with God!

As you pray over your days ask God to help you receive His promise of peace and joy for your life.  Start by committing His promise to your memory by saying “I will go out in joy and be led forth in peace”.  Continue to meditate on it as you go through your day saying in your heart “I will go out in joy and be led forth in peace”.  Thank God for His promise as it begins to sink into your heart “I will go out in joy and be led forth in peace”.  Hold on to that promise when troubles come and let patience have its perfect work in your heart.  When you have spent enough time with that promise to get it established in your spirit, it will come back up when a thought or situation arises that tries to steal your peace and joy.  This is actually one of the ways we learn to hear the voice of God, by listening for His word in our spirit.  The Lord wants to teach us to be overcomers in life by His word.  He wants to speak to us, but we need to be ready to listen.  He has chosen for us to reign in this life, but we cannot reign without His wisdom and guidance.  He tells us in Philippians 1:9 “For it has been granted to you on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in Him…” (NIV)  Even the ability to believe that Jesus died for our sins and has made us righteous before Almighty God is not of ourselves.  It has been granted to us by the Holy Spirit.  Just like the ability to go out in joy and to be led forth in peace is not of ourselves, it has been granted to us.  We were given the victory and we have overcome.  We just need to walk in that truth!

For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God. ~1 John 5:4-5 (NIV)

Have you experienced being born again? If not, you can ask Jesus to come into your heart right now!
