Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. ~Galatians 6:9 (NIV)
"Due season" is God's perfect timing which doesn’t always correlate with ours. We are in a hurry, but God isn't. He takes time to do things right—He lays a solid foundation before He attempts to build a building. So often we want to put the cart before the horse. We want the fruit of character in our lives, but we don’t want to go through what it takes to build that character because the truth is what we have to go through to build our character isn’t usually the fun things in life. It’s the hard things and waiting can be one of the hardest! Have you been waiting to see something or someone change? Have you been believing God for a situation to turn around and line up with His promise? Well don’t give up and don’t let yourself become weary! The Lord tells us in Isaiah 40:31 “but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength…” (NIV) Have you put your hope in the Lord? If so, you can count on His word and His word says your strength will be renewed. It says you are going to soar on wings like eagles, that you will run and not grow weary. It says that you will walk and not grow faint. Keep your hope in God at the forefront of your mind and you can count on the fact that you are going to be ok and good things are coming your way!
We are all the work of God's hands. His building that is under construction so to speak and our lives and our times belong to Him. He knows the best time to bring every blessing He has promised into our lives. Because He is a Master Builder and He knows us better than we know ourselves. When you walk into a brand new building, you might not have any idea of the time and materials and skilled craftsmanship that it took to created that building, but God does. He orchestrates our lives the same way to come together for His plans and His purposes. If you looked back over the last 10 or 20 years you might just see things you went through that at the time seemed difficult, but in the light of hindsight you are able to see how God worked it all together for a blessing and to build you up into the person you are today. Sometimes God's timing seems to be His own little secret, but He is not slow to fulfill His promises, He is giving us time to develop patience. The Lord tells us in James 1:4 “But let endurance and steadfastness and patience have full play and do a thorough work, so that you may be perfectly and fully developed [with no defects], lacking in nothing.” (AMP) Patience is vital to the development of our full potential. It is a fruit of the Spirit that grows under trial. The truth is our potential is only developed as our patience is developed. It is a spiritual law and it is God's way—there is no other. So have some patience today, enjoy the journey and never give up. God hears your prayers, and He knows your hearts desires. He will bring them to pass in due season!
We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised. ~Hebrews 6:12 (NIV)
