Don't look around, Look Up!

Fear not [there is nothing to fear], for I am with you; do not look around you in terror and be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand. ~Isaiah 41:10 (AMP)

God tells us “There is nothing to fear”. That being said to us by God Himself should give us unlimited confidence in our lives. But God doesn’t stop there; He tells us why there is nothing to fear, and it is because He is with us. God being with us is a special privilege that we should never take for granted. Many of the patriarchs of old did amazing things in their lives because God was with them. When you have God, you have all you need to get anything and everything He has called you to do accomplished in your life. God promises to give us the strength and help we need. Do you need strength and help? Then you should count on it to be there because God has promised it and His word never fails! When God promises to hold us up with His victorious right hand, He is telling us He already has the victory, and He will manifest it in our lives if we will trust that He can and that He wants to do it for us. What do you need victory over? Debt? Sickness? Doubt? God can give you the victory over anything in life because He has conquered all those enemies!

The Lord is with us in the person of the Holy Spirit who took up residence in our lives when we made a decision to accept Jesus’s sacrifice and follow Him. The Holy Spirit has been sent to empower us to live fearlessly and follow the path God has mapped out for our lives step by step. He promises to help us, strengthen us, deliver us, and provide for us on this journey…whatever the need. If you have accepted Jesus as your Savior scripture teaches you live in Him and His Spirit lives inside of you. In Acts 17:28 we read “For in Him we live and move and have our being...for we are His offspring.” (NIV) God sees us in Christ Jesus because that is where He placed us when we accepted Jesus as our Savior. There is nothing God would do for Jesus that He wouldn’t do for you and me. The concept God wants us to get is that our identity is in Christ. One definition for the word identity means to have the same essential character expressed in different instances, almost like a math equation where you can come up with the same result many different ways. At the end of the day, we all add up to Christ in our own unique way because Jesus’ right covers all our wrongs. God sees Jesus in you and me. He promises to put our sins as far as the east is from the west. Then He says I am going to bless you just like I did Jesus. Jesus ushered in the “age of grace” where God says we are His children, and He is no longer going to count our sin against us. He tells us in Matthew 7:11 “If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask Him!” (NIV) So fear not. Step out in faith, God is with you and God is for you. Don't look around, look up. All of heaven is ready to watch you succeed in whatever you put your hand to because God is with you!

Therefore, we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith. ~Hebrews 12:1-2 (NKJV)
