Distract Yourself

They will be my people, and I will be their God. I will give them singleness of heart and action, so that they will always fear me and that all will then go well for them and for their children after them. I will make an everlasting covenant with them: I will never stop doing good to them, and I will inspire them to fear me, so that they will never turn away from me. I will rejoice in doing them good and will assuredly plant them in this land with all my heart and soul. ~Jeremiah 32:38-41 (NIV)

The enemy has set his sights on your peace and prosperity today. He is a liar. What you see is an illusion, a grand illusion, it may seem, but an illusion all the same. He has zero control over your finances. He has zero control over your health. He has zero control over your peace of mind. He has images. That’s it. They are as fake as what you see on television. It is acting at its finest. He is trying to create a movie in your head of how things are going to go. He is showing you the worst possible outcomes for many areas of your life. But you are smarter than him. You know better because you know God’s word. You know what He has declared, and it doesn’t add up with your circumstances or the movie the enemy is trying to play in your mind. Hold on to the word. Turn off the tv so to speak. Shut it down just like you would if something came across the screen that you knew the Lord wouldn’t want you to look at. You hold the remote. You hold all the cards so to speak. The only thing the enemy can do is project, do you know what that means? To project? Its something carefully planned to achieve a particular aim. It is a forecast or prediction on the basis of present trends or data. He knows what you are looking at. He knows what the bank account looks like, he knows what the job board looks like and he knows that if he can only keep your eyes looking at these things, he can start creating his movie in your head of the “possibilities”. He wants to create a movie with his preferred outcomes. You must learn to distract yourself. Your focus can be a benefit, but it can also be a hinderance. All depending on what you are focusing on. You must learn to get your eyes on what you want to see. Find your promises and declare those promises to the enemy of your soul. Tell him the truth! It is written…that is the truth.

It is written you are God’s and He is yours.

It is written that He has given you a singleness of heart and action, so that you can always fear Him (and Him alone).

It is written that all will go well with you and your children after you.

It is written that He has made an everlasting covenant with you to NEVER stop doing you good.

It is written that He rejoices in doing you good.

Rehearse your roll in that movie today. Rehearse in your heart that you are the apple of God’s eye. Put into practice having a singleness of heart and action, not moving from what you have been told by your Holy Father. Take joy in the everlasting covenant that God has made with you, His promise to never stop doing you good. Rejoice with Him today as He renews your strength, as He causes you to mount up with wings like eagles and fly high above every circumstance. Look down on those circumstances with God’s perspective because you have been seated in Heavenly places in Christ Jesus. When you run today, you can expect that you will not get tired, when you walk, you can count on not becoming weary. You will press on and trust that the enemy has already been overcome and you will walk in the victory the Lord Jesus Christ has and has given to you. You will exceed in every endeavor because you totally expect the Lord to make a way and bless every move, every endeavor. It’s time to write your own script in your mind. One that depicts your Lord and Savior conquering every foe, and you conquering every negative thought by His Holy Spirit in you. Rehearse the script that makes Jesus Christ the Lord of every outcome. Past, present and future. Every lie is exposed, and every victory is assured. Today is a going to be a great day!

He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. ~Isaiah 40:29-31 (NIV)
