Blessed are those who believe

No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. ~Romans 8:37 (NIV)

What makes us conquerors in this life?  The bible teaches us in Romans 8:37 that it is only through Jesus that we overcome, and through Jesus we are able to overcome anything and everything because His grace is sufficient.  His grace is enough to change our hearts and our habits if we trust Him.  But we have to stop looking at what is holding us back and start looking at who can propel us forward.  We have to start declaring the outcome before we go into battle.  That is living on purpose, and we have to live on purpose in every area of our lives to be successful.  Just like the Galatians we forget too quickly that we have been given the Holy Spirit which the Lord says is a Spirit of power and love and a sound mind!  Don't ever forget where your abilities come from.  In Galatians 3:3 we are asked “Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by believing what you heard? Are you so foolish? After beginning by means of the Spirit, are you now trying to finish by means of the flesh?" (NIV)  We are never going to accomplish anything that lasts in the flesh but by the power of the Holy Spirit we can accomplish everything God has called us to do and we can live the destiny that God has called us to live.

Our faith plays a key role in our ability to reign in this life because what we say is a direct reflection of what we believe.  Jesus says in Mark 11:23 “Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.” (NLT)  How many times have you thought “I am not going to do that anymore...never again...” only to find yourself right back in the same situation?  Our hearts and habits are changed the same way our spirit man is born again, by faith in the word of God.  There is an answer in God’s word for everything we need to overcome in this life, we just have to hear it, believe it and apply it to our life.  The question is…what do you need and what does the bible have to say about it?  Do you need help with your anger, or maybe a little patience?   How about the ability to be thankful and content despite your circumstances?  Do you need some peace because of the pressures of your relationships or maybe some rest from all your responsibilities?  We all need something every day and its time we start trusting God to be the source of that "something"!  If the Holy Spirit has been talking to you about your life being out of balance or if you’re not doing things according to God's will, don't you think He wants to show you the right way?  He absolutely does!  He wants you to get into His word so He can reveal to you the truth about everything going on in your life and what is the best way to deal with your circumstances!  What are you doing today to get God’s word into your heart?  Stop leaning on your own understanding and find out what God has to say.  He is the only one that can get us and keep us on the right track!

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight. ~Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV)

What outcome are you declaring before you go into battle today?
